About The Role

As a Software Engineer at Clipboard Health, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, and maintaining our core healthcare staffing platform. This position offers an exciting opportunity to craft impactful solutions that directly influence how healthcare professionals connect with facilities, ensuring high-quality patient care. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including product managers, designers, and fellow engineers—to build scalable, reliable, and innovative features across web and mobile applications. Your work will involve writing high-performance backend services using Node/NestJS, creating seamless frontend experiences with React and TypeScript, and developing reusable components for our mobile apps using Ionic/React and Dart/Flutter. Embracing a remote-first culture, you will communicate effectively across time zones, participate in agile development cycles, and contribute to a customer-focused environment that prioritizes quality, reliability, and user satisfaction. This role offers the chance to own the full software development lifecycle, from conception through deployment and support, impacting healthcare staffing operations globally.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in building complex web or mobile applications using TypeScript, React, and Node/NestJS
  • Experience developing, monitoring, and supporting production services
  • Strong understanding of service-specific integration testing, E2E testing, and unit testing
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS (ECS, Terraform)
  • Experience with database technologies including MongoDB, Postgres, and Redis
  • Knowledge of mobile development frameworks such as Ionic/React and Dart/Flutter is a plus
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills in high-ownership, low-structure environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills suitable for remote collaboration
  • Customer empathy and a drive to create user-centric solutions
  • Experience with trunk-based development and continuous deployment workflows is preferred
  • Startup experience or experience in high-growth environments is advantageous
  • First-principles thinking and innovative problem-solving approach

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver high-quality, scalable backend services using Node/NestJS and frontend features with React and TypeScript
  • Create reusable components and utilities for web and mobile applications, including Ionic/React and Dart/Flutter
  • Own the full software development lifecycle, from problem definition and design to deployment and support
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and customers to understand real-world needs and implement effective solutions
  • Enhance tooling, libraries, and developer experience in partnership with the DevX team to improve global engineering productivity
  • Participate in daily stand-ups, asynchronous discussions, and documentation to ensure team alignment across time zones
  • Contribute to a customer-centric approach by fixing bugs, addressing technical debt, and brainstorming new features
  • Own and maintain the systems you build, including participating in on-call rotations to ensure platform reliability
  • Support continuous integration and deployment processes, leveraging automation and best practices
