Role Overview:
We’re looking for a passionate, detail-oriented Backend Developer Intern with a strong interest in API development, system integration, and backend architecture.
This is a remote, hands-on role where you will work closely with experienced developers to design, implement, and maintain backend services that support our AR platforms.
While this is initially unpaid, exceptional performance may lead to a paid position after the internship.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop APIs: Build and maintain high-performance REST APIs using Node.js and Express.js.
- Database Management: Work with PostgreSQL and ORM tools (Sequelize) to design and optimize database schemas.
- System Integrations: Assist in integrating backend services with AR platforms and machine learning pipelines.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Write and run unit and integration tests to ensure stability and performance.
- DevOps Support: Learn to work with AWS cloud infrastructure and contribute to maintaining scalable, secure environments.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Help debug, patch, and optimize backend systems to improve reliability.
- Code Reviews: Participate in peer reviews to maintain code quality and follow industry best practices.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in Node.js and Express.js
- Solid JavaScript & TypeScript skills
- Experience with PostgreSQL (basic to intermediate)
- Familiarity with AWS services (some training provided)
- Understanding of Git (we use Bitbucket)
- Basic knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
- Awareness of IT security fundamentals
- (Bonus) Experience with Sequelize ORM
