We are seeking an experienced and strategic AVP/Corporate Communications to lead the development and execution of integrated communication initiatives that elevate the brand, engage employees, and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders. This role balances executive-level messaging, community engagement, and internal communications to ensure consistent, compelling narratives across all touchpoints. You will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, manage high-visibility projects, and represent the organization at industry events and community engagements. The position offers the opportunity to shape communications strategy, drive cultural impact, and contribute to organizational growth in a collaborative environment.

Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with organizational mission, vision, and values.
  • Craft internal and external messaging that connects emotionally and resonates with diverse audiences.
  • Lead internal communications programs to inform, inspire, and engage employees across all levels.
  • Manage leadership communications, company-wide updates, and signature events.
  • Oversee earned media strategies to enhance brand visibility and credibility.
  • Support senior leadership on major initiatives, community partnerships, and crisis communication planning.
  • Represent the organization at community events, conferences, and external engagements.
  • Monitor media and social channels, advising leadership on emerging issues and response strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public relations, or media relations.
  • 6–8 years of leadership experience managing communications teams or initiatives.
  • Proven ability in internal communications, brand storytelling, and media engagement.
  • Exceptional writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience advising senior leadership and managing complex communication challenges with discretion.
  • High ethical standards, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Ability to foster a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Communications or related field.
  • Experience in financial services, cooperative, or community-focused industries.
  • Familiarity with omnichannel communication strategies including digital, social, and in-person engagement.
  • Experience in advocacy or public affairs communications.
