NOTE: This position will involve paid relocation to Vienna, Austria. It is not remote.

The U.S. Support Program to the IAEA assists the Agency attract and recruit candidates for a variety of assignments and encourages qualified U.S. nationals to apply for positions at the IAEA. This 2-3 year assignment is funded by U.S. Dept. of State and priority will be given to U.S. nationals.
Organizational Setting
The Associate Training Officer will work in the Training Section of the IAEA's Department of Safeguards and support more senior Training Officers in every aspect of the training process: training needs analysis, training design, development, implementation and effectiveness evaluation.
The Training Section responsible for the development, coordination and provision of safeguards related training for the IAEA's Department of Safeguards and for personnel of Member States in relation to their obligations under safeguards agreements with the IAEA.
Functions / Key Results Expected
- Assists in the analysis of training needs, training effectiveness and priorities for the staff in the Department
- Design training materials (including eLearning materials)
- Drafts procedures and maintains IT tools for the implementation and improvement of training processes
- Provide advice and review of technical content in their area of expertise
- Supports communication with stakeholders inside and outside the department and the IAEA.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor degree in training and development, information technology, nuclear sciences or other related disciplines.
- Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience in fields noted above.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to analyze data relevant to training.
- Good communication and presentation skills, including preparation and delivery of teaching materials in his/her area of expertise.
Preferred Qualifications
- Practical experience in instructional design or adult learning.
- Experience with eLearning, video and graphic authoring tools for training (e.g., Articulate, Camtasia, Vyond, Adobe Illustrator).
- Experience with a Learning Management System (e.g., Moodle, Azure)
