Our client, a leader in luxury beauty, is looking to bring on an Assistant Manager, Indirect Procurement for a 6 month contract opportunity. The team is open to local and remote candidates.
The Assistant Manager role is responsible for contributing to Global Indirect Procurement’s strategic objectives in order to realize maximum benefit to the business. The Manager’s area of responsibility will be within the Corporate & Professional Services category, specifically overseeing the Contingent Labor category, partnering with the global business to stand up the master service provider partnership and related vendor management system.
The Manager will work with stakeholders and cross-functional teams across Brands and/or Regions to implement category-specific strategies, drive strategic sourcing activities, and build supplier relationship management programs within his/her area of responsibility. Additionally, the Manager will work directly on the identification, tracking and management of savings/value across regions and globally.
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated professional, self-starter and team player with demonstrated successful experience in Procurement, preferably in indirect categories of goods and services. This person will be highly analytical with exceptional Excel savvy, such that he/she may dig deep into data and parse out critical elements to further the category strategy. Must have strong presentation and negotiating skills; ability to present to all levels of the organization
Category strategy
- Develop global category strategies in close alignment with stakeholders, ensuring that strategies directly support the overall professional services category strategy, and that regional/local strategy extensions are developed collaboratively in order to maintain consistent objectives around the world. Categories of responsibility will be within Corporate & Professional Services spend landscape.
- Identify and drive elements of strategy, including evaluating/defining supply base, developing demand related approaches, and establishing related rate cards and catalogs, in particular related to contingent labor and sub-staffing.
- Ability to efficiently develop and execute contracts
Category management
- Realize maximum value to the category by delivering on projected savings targets and cash improvements to support the delivery of globally established goals for value creation, while supporting organizational goals for supplier diversity and sustainability.
- Identify any challenges to efficient flow of services/materials, and recommend operational improvements and/or develop tools to drive efficiencies
- Lead and implement continued rollout and ongoing improvements for Ariba marketplace tool
Data analytics
- Pull reports and act as a subject matter expert / thought leader to break down data into meaningful data sets that support category strategy and spend management planning
- Evaluate supply base data and utilization trends to establish strategy for rationalizing supply base on assigned categories, and ensuring the appropriate roster is set
- Act as the owner for assigned global category data, such that it remains constantly monitored and cleansed for accuracy
Stakeholder engagement
- Develop relationships with functional/brand stakeholders in order to better engage them in project, establish project pipeline that supports their business strategies. Ability to challenge partners, when appropriate, and negotiate internally to ensure program success.
- Partner with regional IP leads to collaborate on category strategy alignment and ensure transparency of project plans, which may impact them and/or their affiliate partners
- Develop, lead and implement supplier relationship management (SRM) programs in close alignment with stakeholders. Plan and conduct supplier business reviews including KPI and metrics reporting
Strategic sourcing / negotiations
- Plan and lead sourcing projects on a global, regional, local and/or multi-site level, engaging stakeholders and the required cross-functional resources
- Support regional and/ or local sourcing projects related to the assigned categories by giving guidance, providing methodologies and sharing any other relevant expertise
Contracting
- Lead contract negotiations with contingent labor supply base as needed, ensuring that critical business partners are involved (i.e. legal, cybersecurity, risk and other teams) to implement contracts and capture them in the Ariba contract repository
Market Insights / Intel
- Continuously monitor external market conditions and understand their potential impacts on supplier pricing or service levels. Communicate findings to internal business partners and regional IP counterparts, in order to educate and share knowledge for continuous category growth and maturity
Other responsibilities
Participate in special projects as requested
