This is an ideal opportunity for someone passionate about eCommerce, design, and retail buying—looking to learn, grow, and contribute to our ambitious mission.
Role Summary
This role is a part-time (opportunity to go to full time), remote, administrative-focused position with potential to evolve into a more merchandising-driven career path. You will assist the Head of Merchandising and Data Manager by managing product data, communicating with vendors, supporting assortment strategy, and assisting in developing category and marketing plans.
You’ll work across multiple internal systems (Odoo, Jira, MongoDB), external spreadsheets, and our own eCommerce platform—so attention to detail and tech adaptability are key. We are a small (but mighty!) team, offering lots of hands-on training and room for professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a primary point of contact for vendors under the direction of the Director
- Set up new vendors within our CRM and maintain updated product and vendor spreadsheets.
- Retrieve and analyze product data from vendors, ensuring accuracy across pricing, categories, copy, variations, and assets.
- Prepare product spreadsheets and assets for the internal data team to upload correctly onto the website.
- Ensure all product images are included and sequenced appropriately for visual merchandising.
- Assist in building and refining shop pages and category layouts using analytics, trend research, and guidance from leadership.
- Prepare and maintain the internal marketing calendar aligned with product launches, vendor spotlights, and key campaigns.
- Support cross-department handoffs by preparing product briefs and marketing info for the Merchandising and Marketing leaders.
- Organize vendor spotlight meetings, including scheduling, agenda-setting, and internal communication to invite the broader MINE team.
- Conduct ad-hoc competitive analysis and trend reports to support assortment decisions.
- Assist with sales reporting and product performance insights using Excel and Google Analytics when needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Marketing, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in retail, eCommerce, product data, buying, merchandising, or a related role.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, Google Workspace, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of (or strong interest in) home furnishings, retail buying, and merchandising.
- E-commerce experience required (preferably with familiarity in site merchandising or product data).
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to learn new software and tools quickly (experience with Jira, MongoDB, and Odoo is a plus).
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
What This Role Offers
- Hands-on experience working with a visionary product and operations team in a fast-growing startup.
- Training and career development, with opportunities to move into digital merchandising and buying.
- Remote work flexibility.
- A chance to truly own processes, play a foundational role, and grow with the company.
