Senior Graphic Designer/ Art Director Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic, imaginative, and versatile Senior Graphic Designer/ Art Director to join the creative team of a global communications firm in a freelance capacity. This is a fully remote position, but you must currently reside in AL, DC, FL, GA, IN, NC, MA, MD, MO, MS, OH, OK, TN, TX or VA. Applicants residing in other states will not be considered.
Senior Graphic Designer/ Art Director Responsibilities:
- Concept and execute bold, innovative visual ideas that simplify complex information and bring stories to life.
- Design and produce a wide range of materials — from brand identities and custom graphics to digital collateral, presentations, and integrated campaign assets.
- Create exceptional user experiences across digital platforms, translating complex ideas into intuitive, engaging designs.
- Provide art direction and hands-on design expertise across all phases of a project, from brainstorming to final production.
- Collaborate closely with creative team to create integrated, impactful work.
- Maintain and elevate brand guidelines while exploring new ways to express them visually.
- Adapt creative concepts across diverse formats and media, ensuring high-quality execution throughout.
- Meet tight deadlines with grace, balancing multiple projects and incorporating feedback efficiently.
Senior Graphic Designer/ Art Director Qualifications:
- 6+ years of graphic design experience required, preferably in an agency setting.
- Experience managing long-term freelance relationships with variable hours and design needs.
- A true design thinker with exceptional visual storytelling skills and a passion for big ideas.
- Strong understanding of user experience design, layout, color theory, typography, and information design for digital platforms.
- Impeccable attention to detail and craftsmanship — from pixel-perfect interfaces to beautifully refined type.
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), PowerPoint; motion graphics (After Effects) a strong plus.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts for both creative and non-creative audiences.
