About The Role

The Administrative Support Specialist will provide essential administrative and technical assistance to designated leaders and teams within Indiana University Health. This role involves managing scheduling, communication, and documentation tasks to ensure smooth operational workflows. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The position is fully remote, requiring daytime availability Monday through Friday, with hours varying based on business needs. While this role does not offer benefits eligibility, it provides a valuable opportunity to contribute to a leading healthcare organization and gain experience in a dynamic healthcare setting. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting leadership functions, facilitating communication, and ensuring the efficiency of daily operations.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant administrative experience; prior experience in healthcare preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through capabilities

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience with Cerner or other Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities
  • Experience working within a matrixed or complex organizational environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic administrative and technical support to assigned leaders and teams, including managing correspondence and documentation
  • Independently schedule appointments and coordinate meetings within three months of hire
  • Answer incoming calls and direct inquiries appropriately, ensuring professional communication standards are maintained
  • Assist with data entry, record keeping, and other administrative tasks as needed
  • Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to facilitate seamless workflow and communication
