About the Position:
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for a part‑time, home‑based interim assignment. In this role, you will take full responsibility for the accounting function of the Dutch operations, while also overseeing two smaller entities in Belgium and France during their transition. A key aspect of the assignment is supporting the compliant closure of the Dutch production site. This position offers a high degree of autonomy and the opportunity to contribute to a strategically important project within a globally respected organisation.
Job Description, Authorities, and Responsibilities:
- Financial closing: Lead the month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing processes, prepare and post journal entries, maintain general ledger integrity, and perform budget variance analysis. Upload financial data from Oracle to Hyperion and reconcile statements between both systems.
- Statutory and tax reporting: Prepare profit and loss statements and balance sheets. File real and personal property tax returns, support the preparation of quarterly SEC schedules, and compile the corporate tax package.
- Entity closure and compliance: Drive the compliant liquidation of the Dutch production entity – preparing all necessary documentation, coordinating with auditors and local authorities, and ensuring that the Belgian and French entities are smoothly absorbed into the internal finance structure.
- Fixed asset management: Oversee capital project spending, perform monthly reconciliation of fixed assets between the general ledger and sub‑ledgers, and provide account coding for capital project invoices.
- Systems and internal controls: Support Oracle implementation from an accounting perspective. Evaluate and maintain the internal control framework to ensure compliance with Sarbanes‑Oxley.
- Special projects: Undertake additional finance projects as required, including process improvements and cross‑border integration tasks.
- Reporting and communication: Report directly to the Senior Manager – Accounting. Provide regular financial updates and variance analyses to internal stakeholders, including Plant Management, Sales & Marketing, Purchasing, Customer Service, Human Resources, and other international locations. Liaise with external auditors and vendors as required.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting and financial analysis, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Demonstrated hands‑on experience with statutory accounts, monthly/quarterly closings, and compliance
- Strong knowledge of entity liquidation and winding‑down processes
- Proficiency with ERP systems – Oracle and Hyperion are highly desirable
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business; CPA is required
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem‑solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Professional working proficiency in English (written and spoken)
- Self‑employed status with the ability to invoice on a day‑rate basis
- Comfortable working from home, with occasional flexibility for overtime or travel if needed
