About The Role

As a Staff Accountant at Bloomerang, you will play a vital role in managing the organization’s financial reporting and accounting functions. Reporting to the Manager of Accounting, you will take a proactive, hands-on approach to ensure accurate financial statements, compliance with GAAP, and efficient financial processes. This role offers an engaging and dynamic environment where financial analysis is valued and your contributions directly impact the organization’s success. You will collaborate with various departments, support external audits and tax filings, and participate in process improvement initiatives. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2-4 years of accounting experience in a corporate environment
  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Suite; NetSuite knowledge is a plus
  • Experience creating Pivot Tables and performing financial analysis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and math skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Experience with accounts payable, payroll review, and tax filings
  • Familiarity with system integration processes is desirable

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries, schedules, and analysis in accordance with GAAP for month-end closing processes
  • Assist external tax accountants by gathering documentation for federal and state tax returns
  • Support external auditors by providing supporting documentation and deliverables during annual audits
  • File state sales tax returns and 1099 forms as required
  • Research and stay updated on current tax laws and regulations
  • Process accounts payable transactions accurately and timely
  • Coordinate with the billing department to resolve collections issues
  • Collaborate with the payroll department to review and record payroll transactions
  • Assist in the integration of potential acquisitions into existing financial systems and processes
  • Establish and document policies and procedures for the finance department to ensure compliance and efficiency
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and significant fluctuations, providing explanations and insights
