THE JOB:

The Account Director is a senior role, you’re the face of Aquent Netherlands for some of the world’s most iconic brands. This isn’t just about maintaining accounts, it’s about transformation and business growth. You’ll dive into a portfolio of large, complex global clients to sell high-level solutions - everything from tech-driven products to expert people services - that fundamentally change how these companies operate.


What You’ll Actually Do

  • Own the Relationship: You are the main point of contact. You won’t just manage clients, you’ll become a trusted advisor who understands their goals before they even articulate them.
  • Drive Growth: You’ll hunt for new opportunities within your assigned accounts, pitching multi-channel solutions and innovative tech approaches to expand our footprint.
  • Consultative Selling: You aren't just pushing a product, you’re selling a better way to work. You’ll navigate multiple products, services and complex contracts to land deals that stick.
  • Strategy & Execution: You’ll align our suite of solutions with the client’s biggest challenges, ensuring we remain central to their long-term success.
  • Work Style: This is a remote (Netherlands based) role, targeting the Amsterdam market. So whilst you will work from home, you'll regularly meet clients in person - that means easy access to Amsterdam is a must.


How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Drive Revenue: You’ll own a portfolio of enterprise clients. Your job is to grow these accounts and turn them into long-term strategic partners.
  • Own the Pitch: You won’t just send slide decks, you’ll engage in person and use storytelling to sell innovative solutions that resonate with buyers at every level.
  • Talk to the C-Suite: You’ll be rubbing shoulders (and negotiating) with decision-makers across Digital, Marketing, Creative, Procurement, HR, and Legal.
  • Build Winning Solutions: You'll win the opportunity to secure MSAs and design tailored client SOWs - but you won't do it alone. You’ll pull in our internal subject matter experts to craft bespoke solutions that are sharp and win ready.
  • Seal the Deal: You’ll lead the charge on negotiations. From setting expectations to nailing down pricing and terms, you ensure the deal is fair, profitable, and ready to go.
  • Bridge the Gap to Talent: You’ll partner closely with our Recruiting Team Leaders to make sure the team we promised the client is the one they actually get.
  • The bottom Line: We’re looking for a closer who acts like a consultant. You need to be comfortable navigating the red tape of a massive global corporation while maintaining


Your Track Record:

  • Sector Expertise: You ideally have a background in professional services, recruitiment and/or the digital, creative and marketing world. You speak the language and understand the landscape.
  • High-Level Sales: You’re a pro at consultative selling. You don’t just sell a base product; you listen, diagnose, and create solutions that solve problems.
  • A Winner: You can demonstrate winning new complex accounts. You know how to network your way to the right stakeholders and use account-based marketing to get your foot in the door.
  • Relationship Expander: You don’t just keep accounts, you grow them. You use a mix of data, networking, and exceptional delivery to find new internal stakeholders and boost revenue.
  • Leader: You’re skilled at leading exec level discussions and getting cross-functional teams aligned to deliver solutions that actually land.
  • Business Brain: You’re comfortable with the numbers. Financial analysis tools, budgeting, and business planning are all part of your toolkit.
  • Tech-Forward: You don’t just dabble with AI. Your use of AI driven sales tools has assisted you to achieve exceptional outcomes.
  • Foundation: You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

  • Expert Negotiator: You’re at home in complex contract discussions. You know how to influence senior stakeholders and find the solution that works for everyone.

  • Big-Picture Thinking: You don’t just look at the next quarter. You build and execute long-term account strategies that retains clients, year after year.
  • Business Acumen: You have sharp business skills and a solid grasp of the financial drivers that move enterprise companies.
  • Communication Excellence: Whether it’s a cold outreach email, a formal proposal, a video call or an in person presentation, you’re clear, persuasive, and professional.
  • Proactive Problem Solving: When a roadblock appears or a client has a tough objection, you don’t stall. You’re agile, resourceful, and always come to the table with a solution.
