What is a remotejob?
A "remotejob" is an arrangement between an employer and employee, which allows the employee to work from a "remote" location, essentially not "the office" or where the employer is officially situated or based.
Is a remotejob for me?
This is a tricky one to answer, there are probably 100s if not 1000s of answers/things to consider and its definitely not the one-size fits "all" kind of answer.
Perhaps, we can boil it down to 3 characteristics which you need to at least follow, even if you are not that kind of person – in order to perform your remote role at a decent level.
1. Discipline – can you stick to yourself set schedule and follow certain routines (ex: dedicated work space, quiet time, for deep dives into topics, meet deadlines etc.)
2. Organisation – can you organise yourself, others around you and balance that in a way, that you can juggle the work-life-balance, which is all up to you. Family, work and/or travelling requires a certain mindset and flexibility. (ex: perfectionists may be overwhelmed)
3. Communication – can you communicate verbally/written in a clear, precise manner without "beating around the bush"? Asy chronic working hours, require clear communication not only in conveying messages, but setting goals, expectations and "getting things done"
