About The Role

As the Senior Product Manager, focused on FreshBooks Payments, you are both product visionary and strategic operator - steering innovation that elevates our customers’ businesses and, in turn, our own. You’ll combine deep domain knowledge with the ability to influence across functions, shaping both product and company-level outcomes. You use data to understand what creates customer growth and the most impactful ways we personalize the FreshBooks’ experience to help different customers get there. You are passionate about tackling big challenges head on, delivering simply amazing experiences, and ready to back it up with results.

Note: This role can be worked remotely from Amsterdam, Netherlands or locations within commuting distance. The team meets in office once a month in Amsterdam.

What You’ll Do

  • Define and drive the vision, roadmap, and guiding principles for FreshBooks Payments, influencing priorities across multiple product areas.
  • Translate customer and market insights into business opportunities that shape both product and company-level outcomes.
  • Lead cross-functional teams of developers and designers, applying effective frameworks to prioritize trade-offs and deliver high-quality results.
  • Build and present clear investment proposals and business cases to influence executive decision-making.
  • Establish and track meaningful metrics, using data to guide strategy and adapt plans to achieve desired business outcomes.
  • Spend time with customers to develop deep empathy and clearly articulate the customer journey for your product area.
  • Mentor and coach junior product managers, contributing to best practices and raising the bar for product quality.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

What You’ll Bring

  • 7+ years of product management experience, including 5+ years in FinTech Payments, Embedded Banking, Accounting, Payroll, or related domains.
  • Proven track record of owning major product areas with measurable business impact.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver new or enhanced products using agile methodologies.
  • Strong data acumen and ability to leverage analytics for strategic product decisions.
  • Exceptional communication skills, able to simplify complex concepts for stakeholders and executives.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and communicate a compelling product vision.
  • High empathy and ability to deeply understand customer needs.

You’ll Stand Out If You Have

  • Working knowledge of payment facilitation, merchant acquiring, card issuing, and embedded finance in SaaS.
  • Experience with payment operating models in the U.S. and Canada.
  • A track record of rapidly launching features and iterating based on customer feedback.
  • Experience in agile methodologies and in launching products using agile ways of working.
