Role: Property Risk Engineer

Description of Project/Role and Main Responsibilities
- Standard risk engineering surveys.
- Description of the site e.g. construction, occupancies, exposures.
- An analysis of Loss Prevention/Mitigation features (Fire/ Flood protection features).
- A ranking of the quality of the site and recommendations for improvement.
- Property damage loss estimations based on technical standards and guidelines (analysis of fire spread and control).
- The role will also involve carrying out risk assessments of Commercial Property and reviews of new projects for Marsh's clients (If experience is relevant).
- The position will also support the Broking team in placing risks in international insurance markets.
- Manage and develop Risk Engineering Management System.
Candidate's qualifications, professional experience and skills required for the position
- Sound working knowledge of commercial property standards (building codes, fire testing, NFPA standards, FM Datasheets), understanding of business risk and ability to communicate clearly that risk to the client.
- Exposure to risk assessed driven decision-making is essential - relevant to field of expertise.
- Ability to communicate effectively to all organizational layers & ability to be autonomous in the role, taking responsibility in delivering for clients and developing the business in the region.
- IT literacy to include general office systems such as Word, Excel, Power Point (or similar). Experience of technical simulation packages for fire modelling, risk assessment, project execution purposes as is relevant to field of expertise.
- Enhanced written and verbal communication skills (ability to write detailed engineering reports in English).
